What is a Back Gutter?

A back gutter is the critical waterproofing component installed on the upper side of a chimney where it meets the roof slope. This specialised lead flashing creates a channel (gutter) that diverts rainwater around the chimney stack rather than allowing it to pool against the brickwork.
